Bishop Wordsworth's Church of England Grammar School
Headteacher's welcome
Welcome to BWS - Mike Baxter
Founded in 1890 by Bishop John Wordsworth, BWS has been proudly educating children from Salisbury and its surrounds for over 130 years. At its founding, the school sought to be a centre for excellence in education and this ambition is one that we continue to strive for. On a daily basis nearly 1200 students, predominantly boys with a mixed intake at 6th form, sustain the vision of our Founder as they develop their potential; setting, and invariably meeting, only the highest standards. I hope the pages that follow give you a sense of the ambition, character and community that define Bishop Wordsworth’s School.
