Bishop Wordsworth’s School is a selective boys' grammar school, with responsibility for setting its own testing and admission requirements. Entry into Year 7 for each September is determined by achieving the qualifying standard in the 11+ examination. The 11+ selection procedure is designed to determine whether boys who are not yet of secondary school age have the academic requirements to thrive and grow at BWS.
Full information regarding the selection procedure, including how to make an application, how to prepare for the examination and details of the selection procedure can be found in the 11+ Entry Information Leaflet below.
More information including frequently asked questions, preparation materials, open events and more can be found in the sub-sections.
